Hi, I'm from Canada but travelling in the US. I don't know how to access my voicemail to change my greeting so that it explains that I can't receive my messages. (People are still saying they hear my old greeting and can leave a message—it's just that I don't get it.)
I tried to resolve this issue by purchasing a roaming add-on for 200 minutes. I thought this would activate phone-features of my plan, so that I could change my greeting. But when I call my voicemail it still says, "You do not have a roaming add-on. We cannot complete your call."
Any help with this would be much appreciated! Thanks!!

@Megan1 in addition to the great responses from @Luddite and @GinYVR, if you're looking for directions to set up an extended absence greeting and disable incoming messages, check here: Workaround for diabling Voicemail

@Megan1Since you are in the US and Public Mobile needs a US Roaming add on to work, you can alternatively call long distance from the US to your phone and access the voice mail that way to change your greeting.

@Megan1 That particular add-on is for calling from Canada to the USA.
To access the voicemail controls call your number from any phone and press * when you hear your current message. Then follow the prompts to change your message.
If you do not have access to suitable phone but can access wifi, create an account at fongo.com which allows calling to most Canadian numbers. Use it to call your PM number, press * etc.
To request a refund, or at least credit, for (I assume) the unwanted add-on, click this: https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/composepage/note-to-user-id/22437 to send a private message to the moderator team with a description of your issue. Sometimes they answer within in 24 hours, but usually take several days.
