I recently switched from Bell mobile to Public Mobile and ported my number. A lot of my apps or appointments send verification codes or reminders but they are not coming through now. My plan has unlimited international text and I have the SMS option in phone settings turned on. Why is it not working?

@kfujita FYI, other system generated text even not from Financial institutions , could take couple days too. Basically it is a network issues, it takes time for every system to know the new "home" of your number. Usually 3 days enough but Banks 2FA texts tends to be longest to come. Again , this is normal after porting

I'm guessing you'll may have to wait until the port completes, then you should be able to receive 2FA texts, if you're still having trouble, then don't hesitate to contact a CSAgent.....

As naive as it may sound, have you tried rebooting your phone? I had the same problem a while ago, and it was resolved that way.
Also, you may wanna make sure that you are connected to the correct mobile network. On android:
Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Network Operators
or
Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Access Point names
Make sure that you are not connected to Bell network.

@kfujita you got friends sms and incoming calls no problem?
if so, no need to open ticket with CS agent . It is normal that it might take up to a week for 2FA text from financial institutions to come through after porting. this is normal for security reasons in case of SIM fraud. so, wait another couple days
