No sms confirmation, but plan still renewed

Not a question really but more of an interesting thing that happened. I got my normal message today about rewards redeemed ($2 autopsy etc), but not the "let's keep the conversation going" one. My service is working, I've texted with my mom, could call my voicemail, using data right now... Just found it interesting, first time in almost a year.

Doesn't seem to be a sign of anything bad, just more strange! 🤔

@stevenanto if it is due to the leap year, very odd indeed! I'm curious now if next month will be the same. But the renewal itself took place properly. I guess that's the main thing? 🤔🤷

@Pawprints1986 @darlicious Yes it is absolutely crazy how 1 day every four years does this. to make matters worse it has been one year since we have had to renegotiate our agreement but our government hasn't even cared. We have school being shut down for two weeks due to the variant spreading within them but yet he has allowed all secondary 3 to 5 students to return full time (were scattered before) in school. No one in any school is vaccinated unless over 65!

Interesting thing, I got the text today about the plan renew! A day later... Weird indeed !

Maybe this change had something to do with the change in messaging instituted last year with respect to other auto-pay messaging.

Could have been an unintentional effect - maybe?

@Pawprints1986 ,

Mmm? that is strange.

So do you see all the payment details for March 2021 in your payment history? And credit card was charged?

Congrats on the anniversary! I am expecting mine soon too. 😁

@stevenanto

Huh? An extra day of work should make no difference whatsoever....you're paid a salary basically regardless of the days/hours you work. Same as if your contract gives you 5 paid sick days. If you are not sick and take no sick days do you get 5 extra days pay? Of course I don't know as I've never had a salary, a contract or been part of a union. I've always been paid hourly so if you don't work you don't get paid.....until the pandemic and the Trudeau government who has enacted legislation allowing you to get "sick pay" thru the EI system to be paid when sick so as to not possibly spread covid-19 to your co-workers and suffer financial hardship by being required to stay home when sick with symptoms that mimic covid-19 or actually are the symptoms of this deadly virus.

@stevenanto That really is a messed up way of doing things! It sounds like you'd end up losing out on alot more pay too? 20% of 60 days must be alot more than 1 days pay you're missing? 🤔

@Pawprints1986 maybe the extra day in the leap year messed the computer up lol

At work the leap year is a mess for our employer, let me explain and you tell me if this makes any sense.

I'm a teacher (public school board)

Someone at the school board level decided that the one extra day added every years doesn't make sense to them so because of this added day every for years they are paying us 80% of our salary in the summer weeks haha. Every other year we are paid 100%. They figure it would make more sense to do it this way rather just remove a day pay on one of the paychecks lol. This is something new that they have done, before 2016 it was always 100% every single year.

Just logged in cuz I was curious,  payment history looks normal as well

As long as my plan is still grandfathered I'm happy 😂 I've had system glitches screw me over with other companies before

And my info at least for now is jumbled and therefore safer lol all looks normal

Side note: I am now seeing my $1 loyalty too, even though technically that's in another 4 days
