I am unable to log in to the app. When I submit the confirmation code sent to my email, I am returned to the log in screen. Please help? I have waited 3 hours since the last attempt, have tried twice at this time, still no result.

no, you need the app to buy and install esim
I think you need to check with support. Explain to them you need to login and buy esim. Maybe they can confirm what was wrong, or help buying the esim and send you the QR code to scan and setup the esim

Deleting and reinstalling app failed.
I successfully logged in on Safari on iPhone. Is there a way of activating my e-SIM from Safari on mobile?

at least you got it on the desktop browser
have you try uninstall , reboot and reinstall the app?
or also try Safari on your phone.

I can log in on my desktop browser. Can you please give me a way to log in on my app on my iPhone, so I can use Public Mobile?

first try to login My Account using Incognito/private/secret mode. If you can login that way, it is not an account problem
then uninstall and reinstall PM app and try again and it should work
if you cannot login My Account via browser or via app at all, ask support to help. You can submit ticket by direct message:
