No data

I recently upgraded my phone to a new doogee s90 pro.

Now I have lost my data unless I use my wifi.

I have 900 mb data unused, my roaming and data are turned on.

Is my new phone not compatible with your provider?

I believe it's called Easter egg
Regardless I've tried a complete factory reset with the sim card.
Still no luck

@deancoles  If that's the case then you need to get a hold of a sim card that willl allow you to add an APN entry:

  1. Roam.com
  2. Freedom Mobile
  3. Speakout (not sure about this one)
  4. Fizz mobile

@deancoles

It is Android issue and your phone maker issue.

If you can't edit and save APN settings, as described above, you could try the other company's SIM card or somehow jailbreak your phone to set the APN settings.

I understand that I need to manually change the APN settings, I've done it many times on my other older phones in the past. My problem is: I can't seem to be able to change these settings. My settings are grayed out and preset from my sim card. I've tried putting the phone in developer mode and that doesn't seem to help either.

I can't believe it's my phone.

Please help

@deancoles  If you are running ANdroid Pie, insert the Public Mobile sim card in your phone and do a factory reset. Start the setup from the beginning it should create the PM APN. entry. If not, then go on ebay and purchase a roam.com sim or if you can get a hold of a Freedom Mobile sim card and add the APN manually as described above.

Good Luck!!

@deancoles

Your APN settings are incorrect.  It is set for Telus.  Can you edit those setting to Public mobile settings?  Some phones unfortunately can't edit and need to use tricks like inserting a Freedom mobile or Roam mobility SIM card in the phone.  With that SIM  card, you can edit to PM settings, save it and then re-insert your PM sim card.

You could try network reset? Reboot phone?

I have tried everything to be able to change the APN settings manually. The seetingd you see from my image is from the public sim card, it always defaults to Telus.

I can make phone calls and access my voice mail, I can access internet on wifi only.

My phone is brand new (doogee s90 pro with Android 9. When I check phone compatible it shows dooger, but not my new s90 pro.

@deancoles  APN needs to be sp.mb.com for data to work. If you can't edit the current one you need to create a new one.

These are the Public Mobile APN settings you need:

Name: Public Mobile
APN: sp.mb.com
Proxy: Leave blank
Port: Leave blank
Username: Leave blank
Password: Leave blank
Server: Leave blank
MMSC: http://aliasredirect.net/proxy/mb/mmsc
MMSC proxy: 74.49.0.18
MMS port: 80
MCC: 302
MNC: 220
Authentication type: Leave blank
APN type: default,mms,agps,supl,fota,hipri
APN protocol: IPv4
APN roaming protocol: IPv4
Bearer: Unspecified
MVNO type: GID
MVNO value: 4D4F

Don't forget to save these settings and then select this APN as the active one.

This phone is compatible according to the specs on the company website.  It's likely the APN settings that need to be set up as suggested.

@popping  That phone suypports all the required bands for 3G and 4G so that is not an issue.

@deancoles  Go into Settings -> Network & Internet -> Mobile Networks -> Advanced -> Access Point names. And make sure Public is selected not Telus. If public mobile is not there then add it as mentioned in my previous reply above.

Can you make calls?

I cannot find any info about the 3G support.

I'm confused. Are you on a Public or Telus plan?

If you need to know where to find the settings:
Android
Settings > More / More Networks / Wireless & Networks > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names > New APN setting (or a plus sign)
