The Telus service on my Iphone 8 has been out since Thursday. Is there an issue with service in our area? My account is paid until Oct 18th. Is there a setting on my phone which may be causing this? I have done a hard boot and a reset with no luck.

@smasunshineWhat kind of phone is giving you the trouble? If it's an older phone, maybe it doesn't support the frequencies/bands needed if there has been a change by Telus in your area to no longer use what your phone supports...
Have you tried your husbands SIM in your phone?

Thanks for everyone for offering advice and help.
I went down your list esjliv and tried everything. I've had my account for years, it is paid in advance. My status is "Subscribed".
The interesting thing is the sim card works in my husband's phone, so it has to be the phone, not a service interruption. I did the phone restart and the reset of network settings, and toggle of airplane mode, didn't work. I tried to change to 3G from LTE network but it wouldn't accept a change. I'm at a complete loss.
Any suggestions? Maybe take the phone to a technician?

East & West Kootenays probably among the nicest areas in BC. Air is clean, traffic is minimal and the fish are still hungry !! 😁

Since hairbag1 had service there, try reboot the phone as well as Reset All Networks and hope it helps

@smasunshine - have you logged into My Account to check your account? Are you a new customer that recently activated? Did you port over a phone number?
If the status is Active, try 1 or more of the below:

I used it in Nelson last night and I'm in C'gar and service is fine. Dial 611 with your cell to hear current status of your account...just to make sure it isn't suspended.

If not then your account maybe suspended for nonpayment or it could be your phone.
Dial 611 or call 1-855-4PUBLIC to check the status of your account.
