Hi
Exact same this on my two Nexus 5 phones "no sim message" probably they want us to buy new phones. Many people have the same issue I mean any other person.

Hey @Phil744,
I'm sorry to hear about your device issue,
Your account is active and everything seems to be provisioned correctly.
Can you try @McLaren suggestion and get back to us?
Thanks,
Shazia

@Phil744 Let's notify the moderators @Mary_M @Shazia_K to have look at your account in to morning.
I suggest you also log into your account and confirm it is "Active" and the plan is correct. Obviously if it's "Suspended" you need to make a payment.
If the alternate sim also fails, and your sim works in a different phone, then clearly something is up with your phone. In that case, please let us know to save the moderators intervening.
Good luck.

I am also on the latest update and mine working without any issue.

You have another sim card to try? Maybe factory reset as well.

What update are you on?
I have the nexus 5 and I am on 6.0.1 and no issues here.
When you tried to re-insert the sim card, I presume it was off? if not try that first. IF so, try taking it out when the phone is on?
no idea if this helps but turn on developer mode on the phone (gives you some other cool features too):
go to settings - about phone - mash the build number until it says developer mode on. try sim card again

Hi @Phil744
Dont have a nexus, but did a quick google search on "nexus 5 update no sim card error" and got a lot of hits, seems this isn't uncommon with this model. Have you spent any time looking through those links for a solution?
