I have a new iPhone 16 Pro, which uses an esim. My old phone is an iPhone SE with a 4G subscription. I would like to start a new 5G subscription with my new iPhone 16 Pro, and cancel the 4G subscription with my iPhone SE, but also transfer the phone number from my SE, hopefully without any service interruption.
How can I do this?

Thanks very much! Since it is the same account (but a different phone), will the phone number be the same?

Thanks. So, am I understanding that when you refer to an account, that is for only 1 phone and that if I want to subscribe to PM with a new phone, then that requires a new account? Sorry, I'm getting a little confused by the terminology.

@EllenShibuya , yes you can continue to use the current plan on your new phone. I assume you are currently using a p-SIM on the old phone. You can simply move the p-SIM to the new phone. Alternatively, if you wish to use an e-SIM on your new phone, install the Public Mobile app on your new phone and from the self serve account, go to the profile tab and do a SIM card change and follow the prompts to purchase and install the e-SIM. Once the e-SIM is activated, the old SIM will deactivate.

Thanks again. Do I lose all of the add ons that I had with my old subscription?

if you are keeping the same account, then yes, you can login to the same My Account and go to Change Subscription page and choose the plan there
but if you meant you want to take advantage of the new activation only plans, then PM won't switch the numbers between the 2 accounts

Thanks. But, it's still my account. I just would like to start a new subscription with my new phone and not have to change my phone number.

Sorry @EllenShibuya , there is no number switching. So, you will either have to give up the number to go with the better plan or stay with the same account
to have esim installed on the new phone with the same account, download PM app on the new phone and login, go to Account page and select Purchase sim card and choose esim/

that would be perfect if it works, but PM won't swap numbers between accounts
