@Jessestouse2010 - you don't have to register the phone, but you do have to active a SIM card if you want a Public Mobile account and phone number.
You can activate an unused SIM Card here: https://publicmobile.ca/en/on/portal/activation

HI @Jessestouse2010 if the phone is new and you never used it before, check if it is on the blacklist:

If you activated the sim and your phone is unlocked just put the sim in and reboot. Did you get a new number or are you porting a number over from another carrier? Also try resetting the network settings.

Are you a current customer? If so, you should just pop out the SIM out of your old phone and pop it in to your new phone. That should work.

@Jessestouse2010 is your SIM an active PM sim that has been working on another phone?
if so, how about your new phone? what kind of phone is that? Where you got your phone from ? does that "new" phone ever work in another network?
