I transferred my number over from Rogers about a month ago and haven't been able to receive calls and SMS reliably, only iMessage and Facetime calls. I also put in a reference code from my friend but it hasn't been applied on his end. I don't have access to my old provider's SIM card. Any idea what's going on? Thanks.

@emmyrose the text you got from your partner, is that iMessage?
what exact date you activate? if it is less than 30 days, login to My Account, go to Profile page and check your current phone number. Is that the number you are porting in from Rogers?
If it is less than 30 days and you see your phone number on My Account's profile, let us know, we can send you PM/Telus porting team number to call and confirm the porting status

What's the status of the Rogers account? Did you do anything to it yourself? If it's closed and you didn't close it then that part is done.
Connect to wifi and go to settings, general, about and see if anything wants to update.
I don't know if the AppleID side of things needs to care about the provider.
In imessage, turn on send as sms and send as mms.
Can you find a setting saying volte?

Thanks for the replies. I should be more clear -- I can make outgoing calls and can sometimes receive calls (not facetime) but it's often very unreliable and most SMS do not come through.

I recall receiving the SMS from Rogers to confirm the port (with my old Rogers sim inside). Would I need to do anything beyond that?

It sounds like you didn't leave the Rogers sim in a phone to confirm the transfer. Can you still log in to your Rogers account or did you cancel it yourself? Is it possibly still active? You might need to buy another Rogers sim and apply it to the account and then put it in a phone. Then call a porting help line to re-trigger the port.
Did you get a $10 credit in your balance?

Are you sure porting number from Rogers has been successfully completed?
Were you able to receive calls/SMS since you joined PM?
Both account have to be active in order to successfully port number to PM.
