a newer plan alert for only existing customer
https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Get-Support/New-plan-alert-for-Existing-subscribers/m...

yes, it is not for new activation.  But anyone getting the $20-Talk/Text only plan should go to check Change Subscription page and change to this $18-1GB plan using Change on Renewal to lock down this good deal.  $2 cheaper and has 1GB

of course, those who wants voice/text only plan can stay with the $20 🙂

Last week, an existing customer could have picked up a 10 GB plan for $25.  Would it kill Public Mobile to let their customers know they're going to discontinue these plans instead of doing it overnight?

@Grinch

what is the age of one of those seniors?.

Same age as me !  😎

There have been many people in this forum asking for talk/text only plans because they don’t need or want data. So it makes sense to provide such an option….. but, is this now only available to new subscribers, because I don’t see it satisfying the current users. As @Sansan  says…. I’ll keep what I have too! At least the $10 bonus credit is back for now. 😉

Sure, no problem.  At $20.00? Kinda steep.

I also suspect a few seniors would take advantage of this plan. Many don't know what to do with data or text anyhow...just wanna be able to call out of the "old folks home".

I take an exception to that remark!! And, in your mind, what is the age of one of those seniors?. I’m glad you glad you said a “few”.

If a senior wants to communicate with family, they pretty much have to text.

When you think about it…..the land line is a dinosaur and mobile phones are all about texting and using data for many different reasons……not talking.

I am sure some seniors are struggling with confirmations and second factor texts for CRA, banks appointments. And the young folks are clueless in seeing how some seniors are being isolated due to it all.

@hairbag1  haha guess what I see coming? Those kids will be purchasing add-ons left right and centre.

Children don't call. They don't want to talk. They want to stream. They want YouTube the ability to use the net when they want.

it's the old carrot and stick philosophy...get good marks in skool and you can have tic-tok on your cell !!  😂

@Sansan

I reckon this plan is aimed at parents of kids who want their first cellphone but are reluctant to include data in those kids plans...just yet !!    🤔
