Hi all!
My contract and device subsidy is finally up and I am looking to change carriers. While shopping around, I found that PM has some pretty good plans, but I also heard that there might be new customer promos, especially for people porting over from certain carriers.
Where can I find more of these details?
Cheers!

@mimmo I'm currently on a $40 base plan, unlimited mins, 1 GB data + promotional 1 GB data for $5 (total monthly = $45).
I'm looking to pay less than $50/month (not a hard fast rule - I'm more concerned with total 2 year cost, see below) or less for 2GB or more of data and to get a new phone as well. I'm currently eyeing the Pixel 3 or Galaxy S9. I'm not too concnered about upfront costs, so long as my cost over 2 years (including any upfront costs) is under $1,250.
Think you're being a tad optimistic. First of, Public Mobile does not sell phones, This is strictlky BYOP, so there are no purchasing deals to be had.
There are some service plans that are sort of comparable to what you're getting now and might save you some cash If you register for Autopay, you could get 5 gb for $38, or 1.5 gb for $33, or 1 gb for $23. Note: these are 30-day cycles, not monthly, but they're close.
On the hardware side, Best Buy is currently running specials on the Galaxy S9 and Pixel 3 - - $800 each. Maybe you can find a better price elsewhere.
So if you combine these, say 800 + 23 x 24, you could get your phone choice with 1 gb of approximately monthly data for $1352 + tax + CC charges over two years. Given your budget, I'd be tempted to go for more service and a cheaper phone, but that's a personal preference.
As others have pointed out, if your &1250 refers to service costs alone, you can easily meet that target at PM.
Good luck to you.

When you say $1250 over 2 years including upfront costs are you including the cost of a new phone? Public Mobile doesn't offer phones for sale, and you're probably looking at over $1000 to buy either the S9 or Pixel 3 outright. Unless you're thinking of buying a used one?
That being said there are plenty of ways to reduce your monthly plan costs, ie: referring friends, $2 autopay discount and helping out in the community 🙂
If I'm misunderstanding then $1250 over two years is plenty. The $40/month plan gives you 5GB of 3G data (with autopay).

@RollingPanda Don't be in a rush to join. PM has different offer lately. You are going as month by month in your current carrier. Look up this forum and PM will post the latest promotion. Check out if you have friends with PM. You will have $10 referral reward too by other PM user.

@RollingPanda what current plan/pricr do you have and what plan/price would you be looking at here. If the difference between the two is small then it might be worth waiting to see any promotions. If it is a big difference, then you actually might spend more waiting for a better deal than joining now and then earning rewards.
The two most popular reoccurring savivgs promos recently have been 25 +25*refer a friend, and $10 off for 6 months.
If it was me I would wait a couple weeks to see if there is a flash deal (usually weekends) an if nothing happens by then and depending on the savings I would join.
You can earn 10$ right away by using a referal when signing up. If you do t have one, ask someone in this thread.
Great to see people asking questions /researching before numbing aboard:)

Aside from the everyday low price plans, there are frequent pop-up deals and incentives to take advantage of. If you want, you can sign up for one of the current competatively priced plans that meet your needs, then if a pop-up or flash sale does come by, you might be able select it to take effect at your next renewal date...depending on the terms of said sale.
Good luck and welcome to Public Mobile...if you choose it.

@RollingPanda, there was a targeted flash sale a number of weeks ago. It is over now. You can follow the community announcements for deals. Provide your email and you will get notifications sent to you.

There are no current promos for you. There was one a few weeks ago for Bell/Virgin/Lucky but it's expired.
