@JoyLuck Quite a few on these forums have reported success doing just that, yes. And it makes sense that it would work, because Public Mobile seems to allow increase in spend without issue.

So I am one of the unlucky ones who does not have this $35 option showing in their self service account. Has anyone in the same boat as me actually gone through and did an instant renewal on the $30 plan and then made another change on this new $35 plan at renewal. I would hate to make an instant renewal to the $30 plan only to find out that this $35 plan is STILL NOT offered to me.

@Redgrandam Correct on both points. If 20GB isn't enough then you could do 2 renewals in one day, but then you'd be forefeighting $16 + $30 = $46, which brings your ROI to 10 months.

Thank you. In that case though I’d be stuck with only 20gb for the next 30 days though right? Unless I upgrade to the promo plan ‘now’ (two switches both on the 31st right?)

Wait until the 31st to do it because the plan has an expiry date noted, and then you'll only have 12 days left in your cycle. $40 / 30 = $1.33/day x 12 = $16 will be forfeited if you change it on Jan 31 as a "Change Now".
Then once that's done you can schedule a change plan to the $35 plan to happen at the next renewal, which will lock it in.
In this scenario you'll lose $16, but you'll save $5/month, which means at month 4 you're ahead.

In my case I’m on a $40 plan. I have 23 days left in the cycle. If I switch to the 20gb $30 plan immediately then switch again to the $35 75gb plan, what do I forfeit? Do I get instantly charged for the $30 plan and lose what I previously had? And then if I switch immediately again to the $35 plan my $30 is gone? (20gb isn’t enough for me for a month).

did you get the option to switch when trying to change subscription?

Ah that makes sense - thanks @fixin1

@DennyCrane - That is an Exclusive Offer (https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/ab/plana9wzhuxpwpm?network=ALL)
I Cannot see it as it is a typo without the New Activations Only offer. I did switch over to the 1000min 75GB $35 plan
a week ago
Yeah existing must be 1000 mins
Maybe, but i checked on 2 diff browsers and 2000 LD Minutes on both (with Cache cleaned), but again doesn't matter as for existing clients i didn't see more than 1000 LD Minutes.

Weird I don't see that even for Alberta. Maybe it was a typo that they fixed, and you're viewing a cached page?

Maybe that's a typo they already fixed, as I don't see it. And I tried BC, ON, and QB. What province do you have selected?

I have a full month to go. I just switched over and ported my number. I won’t complain, this is way cheaper than what I was paying, with the added bonus of USA & MEX. Crazy cheap and fab deal.
yeah, at PM we have noticed that you can't downgrade easily, means if your plan payment is $45 then PM will present to you $45 or higher plans to switch (also cheaper plans but Can only or Can-US).

@Boho How much time is left in your current cycle? It might be worth renewing today into the $30 plan, then immediately going back in and scheduling a plan change to the $35 plan at next renewal. Worst case even if you have a full cycle left (i.e. you just renewed), you'd break even in 3 months of saving $10/month (the difference between $45 and $35). By month 4 you've come out ahead. If you're already half way through your cycle, that break even point is only 45 days.

That’s what I figured. It’s the exact same plan but it’s 45$ which I’m not complaining still a heck of a deal. Just wish I’d seen the 35$

Interesting on the website it shows 2000 LD Minutes, but for existing customers i believe it's 1000 LD Minutes within subscription change (if it's available for your account). Just saying !!!

@Boho If your current plan is more than $35, it's likely you won't have this option because Public Mobile seems to have this new/unwritten policy of not giving very many options to downgrade spend. What is your current plan?
A workaround is to downgrade to a $30 plan immediately (that seems to be an option for most people), and then as soon as that's done you should see the $35 option which you can schedule for next renewal. Just beware that you won't get a refund for any unused time in your current cycle.

I can’t see that deal anywhere in my account on the app or web. I see it if I’m not logged in but when I choose it, says to login, then it says I already have an account and to change my plan go to my account setting etc. it’s not in there 🤷🏼♂️

@Boho Why would you have to wait? You can set it now to Change on Renewal which will lock it in. If you wait you risk it not being available.

I figured I’d have to wait. Hopefully they have this deal after the new year. Thanks for the reply!

@Boho - I would recommend looking at my myaccount.publicmobile.ca and change on renewal.

Great find!

I just scheduled the change also. For a $1 more getting Mexico included was too sweet a deal, the data is already way over what I would need but the added roaming destination might come in handy when I visit my sister

I just signed up and ported my number I have that deal but it’s 45$ and nearly a full month to go. Is there any way to change it to the Boxing Day special before the deal is done. It doesn’t show up on my app 🤷♂️

Enticing but I think I will stay on the $30/20GB CAN-US plan for now. Actually if they offered up the $75/60GB/90 day plan, I would take it in a heartbeat. No FOMO here about spending $5 more per month on usage that pretty much goes to waste. Wallet is safe.
