Public Mobile no longer offers retail level activations. You must do it yourself online or with the help of a friend. Have prepared ahead of time your email, password, and 4 digit PIN # ready. Choose a temporary number (Alberta will save the pst) and port in afterwards in your self serve account once everything is all set up on your pm Sim card. It's easy as others have already pointed out.

The activation & porting process is pretty straight-forward once you have the credit card, public mobile SIM card, prior mobile provider's account number, and e-mail address for the account set-up.
Also, if you know someone with PM service, ask them for their public mobile referral code (on their self-serve landing page) to save both you and them a bit of money. There's a place on the activation screen to enter that as well.

Decide what credit card and e-mail address you wish to use, then click 'Activate' on top of page.
During the activation, you'll be given an option to port (move) your number from your prior provider. Best to get your prior provider's account number jotted down beforehand in this process to ensure a smooth port.
Choose a plan, then enter payment details, then you're done.

buy it new sim from telus store today and in store not like to activate for me is they are very bad,
but how to do it !

Easiest way to activate sim and port is to use the live chat for activations.

Make sure to leave Telus sim in phone to get confirmation text to port out.

During the activation here, you'll be given the option to port your number from your existing provider. Leave the TELUS sim card in the device until you get the port authorization text from them.
Reply "YES", then put your PM sim card in after it's been activated.
