My number is being spoofed to make scam calls

Good afternoon

Just got a call from someone saying I called them twice today. I did not. I suspect my number is being spoofed to make scam calls.

What do I do? Ignore it? What if my number gets auto blocked or something?

Any ideas, anyone?

I've been suspicious of scam calls I've also received from my very small town town-code, no way major companies (caller ID) are actually headquartered there. So number spoofing is a thing, as I told the person who phoned me asking why am I phoning them.

I am in the same boat as you and it's been going on for 2 weeks. I get hundreds of call backs and texts saying I called them on a daily basis. Non stop. It's affecting my mental health with people texting me nasty things. Have you seen this going away after a bit or did you end up changing numbers? I don't want the hassle of changing numbers, but I don't know how much of this mental abuse I can take anymore

@Bearman  I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you answer just say no and hang up. They don't know who you are or the actual phone number.

Just this morning I had an email to my work address from 'Revenue Canada'  saying I was reassessed and that I owed money to pay back by August 25.😁

@Bearman , number spoofing happens all the time.  It cannot be stopped by the carrier.  Anybody can spoof a call with a fake number.
