Since beginning June 2023 my service has taken a nose dive at home. Incoming callers voices cut in and out. I can’t have a conversation unless I’m within 6 feet of my interior cell phone booster antenna. Used to be able to walk all over my property and not have reception issues. Checked my booster, it’s working. Checked my iPhone, it’s working perfectly elsewhere in my town. Has public mobile changed the towers they’re using on Vancouver island recently? I live 8 km North of Courtenay in a rural area. If so, I may need to change the direction of my exterior cell phone booster antenna. I need help please!

I have an iPhone XS Max. Yes LTE has a checkmark. Just saw that when I put checkmark in 3G I have more bars of service. I hope I just solved it. Explain if you can.

@Bm41 trying to see if VoLTE works on your phone
Understand you were not sure from earlier reply. But let's try again
first , which iPhone you have?
check if you see VoLTE in this settings (you might not find it as Telus might hide the option
Go to Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options or Settings > Mobile Data.
Tap Voice & Data. You may need to tap Enable LTE to see the following options: Off: Turns off LTE. ...
Tap LTE if there's no checkmark beside it. You should see a checkmark beside LTE.
Tap the VoLTE toggle to turn it on or off.
Turn off your Wifi, check if you see anything showing 3G/LTE/5G on your phone on top of the phone
then make a call, see if the network change

I’m so frustrated. Cell service still sucks at my home, I have to huddle right next to my interior booster antenna. I’m at the point of switching carriers. C’mon Public, if you want to keep me as a customer provide some help. I’m paying for terrible service right now.

@Bm41 Does the Iphone have the most recent update installed? You can also try setting the network mode to 3G and reboot.
edit: you can check if the calls stay on 3G or LTE by selecting About Phone>Status Information>SIM card status. This might be a little different for Iphones (don't know). Then have someone call you or call yourself from another line and see if the phone call displays LTE or not.

My phone is LTE enabled, I checked in my settings. Nothing shows up on top right of screen when I make a call. I have no idea if it drops to 3G during a call. How can I tell?

We live under a metal roof, and rurally, but invested so had to invest $900 in a cell phone booster. Solved all our problems up until recently.
