Lost my phone so purchased a new SIM card, I want to activate my new sim but it’s not allowing me to do so on my account. Please help.

If it was an iPhone - hope you logged in to your iCloud and clicked on "Find Your Devices" and if not found click on remove and disable (brick) device.

So, your sim card is new and never used, right?
what error yo ugot?
try using Incognito mode
and you were using Change SIM card from Quick link menu like this?

First, try logging into your account using a different browser in incognito or private mode first. Try again.
You want to do a sim card change, from in your account.
Don't try to activate the new sim card.
