Hi all, I'm moving from BC to Quebec in July! I'm just wondering if I need to do anything to update my plan? Cheers!

@Embur

your friends in Quebec (without a long distance plan) will have to pay tolls to call you....even if you're standing right beside them. They will be dialing a BC number so long distant charges will apply unless they have Canada wide calling included in their plans.

You may want to purchase Public Mobile vouchers in Alberta if you are driving as you will only pay 5% GST on their value. This saves the 7% PST on BC phone numbers and 9.75% QST if you change your phone # to a Quebec area code.

Your plan doesn't need to be changed, but it's your choice whether or not to change phone number. Note that the sale taxation rate will be based purely on the phone number.

HI @Embur

you don't have to do anything if you are keeping the same phone number

if you want a QC number, then login My Account, go to Profile and update phone number and pick a QC one

And I suggest you to update the address and credit card after you changed the address with your credit card.  The reason is that Quebec usually get slightly better plans.  But to access QC plan, you will need a QC address and a credit card that is linked to a QC address.
