Montreal outage

Hey.

Its been since yesterday that i cant access data.  I have 3g plan. I cant send MMS either... Settings on phone are ok.  

I do have data left over.

I know someone else talked about a shortage

Is there a shortage?

how can i get confirmation of this thanks

Hi Nikita, I had the same problem all yesterday and I solve it by restarting the phone. I waited a couple of minutes and my data came back. I hope it will help you as well

@Nikita   from the posts in this forum, I don't think there is any mass outage in Montreal area.  if anything , it could be just a local issue

 

Did you try your phone in different part of the city?

Voice and SMS working both ways (incoming and outgoing)?  Just MMS and data?

 

Try calling *611 or login to My Account using Incognito mode to confirm if you have any data left (incognito mode is needed for the correct reading as the same has some cache issue)

 

Try to restart the phone first

If you have another phone around, test it with the PM sim card there

Or if you have no other phone to test, you can try to change the Network to 3G Only and see if it helps (if it is already at 3G Only, try to chance it to Automatic so the phone can try using 4G LTE network)

If that still does not work, you can try clicking Reset all networks (please note it will also clear your saved Wifi connection and Bluetooth paired list, you just need to re-setup those connections again)

@Nikita  these are the area codes in Montreal that were affected:

H2VH3GH3N and H1T.

But seem to be cleared up now.

Try 1 or more of the below to see if data works:

  • restart your phone
  • toggle into and out of airplane mode
  • perform a Reset of the device's Network Settings
  • move your sim card to another phone to see if services works
