Minimal Data on Phone and Hot Spot not working at all

Update: I turned my cellular data on and off, switched between LTE and 3G, turned my roaming on and all of a sudden the data works.  🤷‍♀️  I have no idea what helped.  But it's working.

I'm working remotely and my hot spot stopped working.  I checked my data usage and I still have 2g left on my regular plan for the month.  I purchased additional data just to be safe, so I have 1.5g in additional data.  That shouldn't be a problem.

I've restarted my phone and reset the network settings  I'm not able to receive photos or videos via text.  Most things are loading on my phone but not all.

I'm not sure if this is a coverage issue, a data issue or a phone issue.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks 🙂

Found what I needed to get my Hot Spot working. Changed my APN.👍

@beckums42   if it works now, then just leave it as is.  I guess it could be just network hiccup  🙂

monitor the hotspot usage.  The one using the hotspot might need to select the hotspot connection as "metered network" to reduce usage, if not, the phone would think it is a regular Wifi and will start download update and drain data quickly

Thanks for the reply.  I'm not sure what was having issues, but it seems to be working now.

@beckums42

What kind of phone do you have? Check your APN'S MMS settings maybe they have changed for some strange reason? Or your Hotspot settings? Where are you located?

So, your phone with a PM sim card is providing hotspot to another phone?

is it only the phone using hotspot not loading many things?

how about the phone with the PM sim card providing the hotspot?

has the hotspot been working perfectly before?

On the phone providing hotspot check the APN settings

especially confirm the APN Type, you might want to try to include dun there
