If you'd be so kind:
a) What app were you using that failed?
b) Which are you using that works?

geopublic you solved it

yes, data works, sms works, only MMS canot be sent or downloaded
04-14-2020 03:00 PM
@kateyyj It's a long thread so I may have missed if you have checked that it's only MMS that will not function? Can you still access the internet with other apps with wifi turned off?
04-14-2020 03:00 PM
we are using messages, sms works, should we re install it? what else we should try?
04-14-2020 02:57 PM
@kateyyj What application are you using to send the MMS? Can you try using another app to see if it works? If yes, then the problem is with the app that you are using.

@kateyyj please try sending a mms message usung the working SIM in the phone giving the problem. Thanks. If you have a stuck mms message, delete it and retry sending it from scratch. Thanks.
04-14-2020 02:46 PM
i have done this, works on one phone, so I think the problem is the phone, not PM, but nothing changed lately.
04-14-2020 02:43 PM
@kateyyj Can you swop the Sims and try sending an mms message on both phones, so that we can determine if its a PM or phone problem. Thanks.

so I dont know what to do with the APN, no update lately.
04-14-2020 02:38 PM
unfortunately didnot work.

@kateyyj The force stop is suggested because there might be an issue with the messaging app and by doing that it will re-initialize it. Don't worry it will not harm anything. In fact, I have done it in the past and has always cleared up similar issues.

It's to close the program fully to remove any memory remnants.
Edit: it seems unlikely to me that the APN is the problem. It had been working. Unless someone (you) inadvertently changed something there or an OS update or an app update, I don't think you need to muck around in there.

Your first message said send and receive. This one says receive. Which is it?

Don't worry about data when it comes to MMS. You could even have a plan with no data and you could have MMS.

MMS only works on Data it will not work with Wifii.
You have to have your data turned on, if you have no data then this will not work to send.

If you used all your data for your current cycle, options to get more data:
1. If your current data limit does not meet your 30 days' need, you may change a plan with more data. You can do the plan from self-serve. You get your data back immediately with plan change.
2. If you want to renew the same plan early, you need to create a moderator support ticket using the ? button at the bottom right hand corner of this page. Moderator wait time is up to 2 days or more. If your next renewal date is up to 2 days away, you may just on data diet for a few days until after renewal.
3. You can buy data add-ons $15 1GB data or $10 200MB data. Expensive option

@kateyyj try a network reset, restart and reenter you WiFi passwords and APN settings if necessary, enable data and try sending an mms text message. If this doesn't work let us know.

Login to your account. What is your data usage line saying?
If you don't see your data usage line, you used all your data for the current cycle.
My data usage line showing that I used 45.396 out of 250 MB.
| Data & Add-Ons | Amount Used |
$0 Free Holiday Giveaway: 1GB Add-on | 140.206 / 1024 MB |
$0 Free Holiday Giveaway: 400min INTL Long Distance (incl CA & US) | 1 / 400 MIN |
1GB Promo | 102.004 / 1024 MB |
250 MB at 3G speed | 45.396 / 250 MB |
500 min Canada-Wide Long Distance | 189 / 500 MIN |

Has anything changed though?
Two things to try:
1. Try the lost/stolen feature.
Log in to self-serve. Plan & Add-Ons from top menu. Lost/Stolen Phone from next menu. Suspend Service button. Log out. Wait a few minutes. Log back in and back to Lost/Stolen Phone and Resume Service this time. Log out. Restart phone.
2. Manually add $1 into your account and restart the phone.

I would do what @geopublic suggests and try your sim card in the other phone and see what happens.

so I should double check VPN?

@kateyyj I know a few times over the years that updates have changed certain things when it was not intended

@kateyyj wrote:question, why do i need to set APN all the sudden? I never set my APN on both accounts, one still working, one stopped lately.thanks
@kateyyj Good question. If you did not make any changes to your APN then more than likely it's not an APN issue. Just make sure the APN Type field contains mms or compare it to your other phone that works.
Best to try the sim with the issue on the other phone so see if the mms goes out. If it does then the problem is the phone and not Public's network or your account.
