I keep having trouble logging in.
I think the problem is when I signed up it wouldn't accept my email address so I put in a user name, but now when I put in my email it says it is invalid.
Also having trouble texting a emoji or a caricature picture and words, will not send

If you cannot log in, password is incorrect or you forgot it and reset password does not work for you as you forgot security answer, only agent can help you out.
As for texting or receiving pictures, meaning MMS, DATA has to be on even though sending/receiving MMS will Not use your data allowance.

Well, to start with ..your username is actually an email address, then a password to log in to your account.
You'll likely need help for Customer Support Agent in order to get it correctly activated.

Send them a request for help with as much info as you can. I'm sure they'll be able to help.
Once your PM activation is successful...I think your texting emoji's will work fine.

What phone do you have? Sounds like a setting issue.
If it is an iPhone, go to Settings>Messages>enable MMS messaging and Send as SMS.

Try clearing cache and cookies and using an incognito tab to login.
Failing that, use a different browser on a different computer or device.
