Hi All,
I haver decided to leave Public... honestly, its been awesome, great signal and amazing price, I just needed something where I could easily download my monthly bill via PDF for work purposes.
Anyway, I was in Freedom yesterday as they will be my new provider. There seems to be an issue porting my number from Public to Freedom. They tried yesterday to no success, after giving Freedom my cell and account number. I am waiting for the Freedom store to open at 11am and will call then, but wanted to see if there was an advice on this from the forum.
Thanks in advance!

It is sad to see PM customers leave due to such minor things like monthly bill printout.
If PM staff is reading this forum/tread they should consider implementing 'monthly bill'. I guess most of us do not need it (I would not care less) but if you claim your cell charges you definitely need it.

Thanks so much for this helpful reply 🙂 One of the awesome things I will miss about Public!
I have submitted a ticket and hopefully they will be able to try and push the text through again.
Thanks again!!

You need to keep your PM account active during the porting process. After the port is completed then your account will be automatically closed.
Transferring Your Public Mobile Number To Another Service Provider
To help protect our customers from fraud, Public Mobile will send you an SMS text message should we receive a request to transfer your mobile phone number to another carrier. This step is designed to protect your account by confirming if the request is genuine or fraudulent. The SMS text will read as follows: Public Mobile message: We’ve received a request to transfer this phone number to another service provider. To approve this request, please reply “Yes”. If you did not request this transfer, please reply “No”. Please note that you must respond within 90 minutes. If we don’t receive a response within this time, the request will be automatically cancelled. For any issues with this number transfer, contact our Porting Team. Thank you.If you have made a request to port your number to another carrier and have not received an SMS from Public Mobile to confirm your request, please open our chatbot via this link. This will put you in touch with our Customer Support Agents who will be able to assist you.

Thanks for your reply 🙂
I have been waiting for that text since yesterday afternoon. Freedom explained that I'll receive that and then select 'yes' and then I can switch the sim cards over.
No text though unfortunately

You'll need to leave your PM SIM card in your phone to get and respond YES to a text from PM about permission for the request.
If you have missed that, you'll need to ask Freedom to re-start the process.
