I have been with public for years on the 15$ a month plan, I dont use my phone much so it worked great for me. Recentlly I moved to a rural area and upgraded for a bit to 50gb a month because I did not have wifi. Now I have wifi setup, but there is no way for me to get a plan with any substantial savings on it. As far as I can tell, the cheapest plan that is available to existing customers is 30$ a month, which is way too much for me (I use less then 1gb of data a month)
To be franc I am getting fed up with Publics BS (pardon my language but it is accurate) the forced everyone off of the old loyalty and are now forcing me to pay twice as much simply because I am exisiting customer.
I really hope there is some way to downgrade to the 19$ a month plan, otherwise, I plan to leave and take as many people with me at this point....
Anyways sorry for the negative post, if you know of anyways to help please let me know, as I am in rural alberta, it is not easy for me to get a new sim card and swap carriers (otherwiser I already would have done so)

@MajesticFluff No you need new Telus sim for Telus . Sim cards are one time use

Thats what I thought, but thanks for the replies, does anyone know if I can use a public sim on a telus account?

Based on other members with the same question. It seems that PM have restricted members from downgrading to a lower plan in your account.
You only option you have is to port your number to another carrier then port back but you need a new SIM. You will lose all the points collected through if you port out. It seems like a lot of work just to a lower plan. There maybe lower plans on Cyber Monday, Boxing Day or around Christmas so keep your eyes on your account for new deals.

@MajesticFluff You can only change to what’s available plans are available to you to change to in your account . So if you do t have friend refferals you could port number out and back in on newly created PM account would need new sim and email for public . But if you don’t care about your phone number you could. Just create new account with new sim and email and pick new number and avoids the cost of porting out and back in

once you upgraded to higher cost plans, now you're trapped there. The lower cost plan won't show up in your self-service plan change menu. As a matter of fact, the old $15 plan is gone...$19 is the entry level now. Telus has a cheap $100 / 365 days talk/text/data plan that might work for you.
