Hello, can anyone else in Coquitlam connect to Public mobile data? It seems it has been down for awhile now. My phone indicates network error even after re-boot.
Solved! Go to Solution.

the 3rd party is not better but worse. It offers unconfirmed information and it is unreliable. Anyone can report there and claim there are issues with their service. Reality is that the reports could be just a user's own setup issue, a single user issue, and in some cases, it could even be mischiefs.
On the other hand, the Telus site will only post if it is a confirmed issue that affect large number of users. In this particular case, we saw that Telus did post the service issue shortly after and we saw them resolving the issue quickly

While those 3rd party sites aren't great, it sucks worse when they are better than the listed outages from the carrier.

hi All,
Telus has removed the outage note, so the issue should have been fully resolved.
if you still have problem, try reboot the phone

Is your phone on 5G or 4G/LTE? Try switching and see if that helps.
If not, reset the Network setting.

Yes, the internet service resumes now, though it is a bit slower.

Telus it is P1 P2 situation. Get your team to update this network degration is provincial wide instead of putting Prince George region in outage map.

if you are in Vancouver area, there could be a outage there. But try changing our network mode to 4G/LTE or even 3G and check data is working with the different network mode
And you have voice calls and text working?

I understand that many regular members here often recommend checking this site. However, it is not a reliable source and should not be relied upon to confirm network outages.
First, the site is not an official source, and the numbers displayed are based on issues voluntarily reported by users.
In addition, the reported numbers for each carrier represent the total number of reported issues across multiple services, including Wi-Fi, TV, total blackout, email, phone (which may refer to either mobile or home phone), and internet (which could include both home internet and mobile data). This can be misleading for members here who are only concerned about mobile service issues.
For example, the Vancouver section on the site shows 89 reports in the past 15 days, and the six most recent reports in the Vancouver area are:
As mentioned, those internet issues are unclear as to whether they are related to home internet or mobile services. The numbers shown are therefore not a reflection of any current issue. At most, they could only serve as a very rough reference to overall service reliability over a 15-day period.
The Vancouver example I brought up is not a one-off. In fact, all areas show a similar pattern, where different types of issues are combined into a single number for each carrier, based on small, voluntary samples collected over multiple days. Because of this, I do not believe this site is suitable to recommend as a source for checking outages.
@sptong / @STallarico / @PkMuzik / @rockymalubay
I would not use that site to confirm if any local issues at all
You can check the official site for service status:
https://www.telus.com/en/bc/outages
It does cover different Telus products, too. So, you have to click on the each circle, or the circle in your area to confirm if it is about Mobile issue.
As of this moment, there is no confirmed Mobile issue in BC area. However, it is not unusual Telus might not post the outage until it is confirmed or until it is a more widely affected issue. So keep checking.
And I encourage you to open ticket with PM agent to report your issue so they can investigate. Please open ticket with PM support:
