IS THE POLAROID A600WH 6" SMARTPHONE, ANDROID 6, 3G GSM/ GPRS/ EDGE 850; 900; 800; 1700 (AWS) 1900 MHz, 4G HSPA+ COMPATIBLE WITH THE PUBLIC MOBILE NETWORK?
Thanks for providing me with years of trouble free smartphone usage. I don’t want to change my existing plan. Keep it as it stands. My current phone is the Motorola Moto G XT1032 falcon, which I purchased from Public Mobile on 14 May 2014. I am a loyal Public Mobile subscriber, having been a customer since 20 August 2013. I have never failed to prepay my monthly subscription on time ever since becoming a Public Mobile customer.
I am considering purchasing a new smartphone as detailed in the subject line.
Here is the link to the UNLOCKED smartphone:
Will the Polaroid A600WH smartphone work on the Public Mobile network?
It also has a micro-SIM. Can I purchase the phone and slip the micro-SIM from the Moto G into the new Polaroid smartphone, and it will work immediately, after the battery has been charged first?
Will I be able to restore a Titanium backup from the Moto G to this new Polaroid smartphone?
My other backup, apart from the standard Google backup, is EasyBackup, but it doesn’t contain as much of the data as the Titanium backup.
Please advise.

I bought 2 Polaroid A600WH phones. They still work great. I have ported and compiled a TWRP costum recovery and rooted both phones. By the way perhaps the A600WH phone that you had might not have been broken, If you had totally drained the phone battery, it does take 10 to 15 minutes before you can see anything on the screen, it did happen to my white A600WH. But my black A600WH does not have this problem. This phone has MT6580 cpu which has lots of third party ROMS you can use to address the downsides of the OEM or Polaroid ROM.

This phone I purchased in January 2017, it worked for four months, and then it died. Lower end chinaphone. It was a dud, and the store I bought it from has discontinued it. I got a warranty exchange for a Polaroid S50, a smaller phone from the same manufacturer, my current phone. This phone, while also lacking storage capacity at 8GB internal (I added an external 64GB SD card), works satisfactorily, but there are issues with two built-in apps, YouTube and Google Maps, that have not been addressed by the developers, who ignored my emails to them. I have not rooted the phone, and have been using it since May 2017.

i have heard that the Polaroid phones look good, and function fairly well, but have many compatibility issues with most apps in the google apps store and others. too good to be true for the price i suppose... best to stick with what works. i have been considering trying something new like an acer zenphone or HTC m8 or m9 phones, but don't have much troubles with the samsungs i have had for years. currently an s5 active. the regular s5 i had about 2 years ago was very problematic however. multiple s4's were great, i have an s4 active (at&t phone i need to fix still) that was great, and even the older s3. a friend has the s6 active (another at&t phone) and loves that.

Thanks for the feedback. This database is amazing! I purchased the phone and it works on the Public Mobile network, except for one major issue which I will report elsewhere. Connecting up and restoring apps and data went smoothly for the most part. I will report the issues elsewhere and request guidance.

Agreed. That's very expensive for a 720p phone with 1gb of ram and 8gb of storage space. Though the options in that price range for 6"+ phones are extremely limited as well, so I'm guessing that's why it's interested you. A quick googling didn't bring up any promising results for rooting this phone, so Titanium Backup will be no good.

OP, I am quite certain the titanium backup requires root privileges. So unless you are certain that you can root this Polaroid phone, you are not going to be able to use titanium backup to copy apps and data from your current phone over to this new phone. For non root devices, helium can be used. I have no experience with using helium, so I cannot provide any user experience. I am a titanium backup user myself.

The question about band compatibility with Public Mobile has been answered. I have an off topic comment. This phone only has 3G capability. For this price, that is pretty expensive for a device with no LTE capability. Moreover, the 1 gig of ram is ridiculously small for anything made since like 2014. Personally, I would not pay more than $100 for the phone. It is dated right out of the box.

Based on the specification on that page, the phone 3G will work on Public mobile.
If you currently have public moile sim card, and if it fits, simply try it in the store. It seems they both uses micro sim card, so they would fit anyway.
Restore using your titanium backup to new phone normally it works on many apps, however keep in mind that if app has its own design for different chip or their own android software, some might not work. However there might be a version that works on your new phone in the market.
Have fun migrating, it will take some time to move everything. 🙂 Be prepared. It isnt that complicated anyway.
