I've been receiving too many spam calls, Area Codes 306,587, 226, 204, 250, etc.
When answering, no one is on the line, and when calling back, number not in service.
Kinda annoying

It's hard to block each number if they keep calling from different numbers. The way would be to block all calls from numbers not in contact list. Some phones do that.
Keep in mind that "blocking" calls merely immediately invokes the conditional call forward to your voicemail, where they can further annoy you by incurring a useless voicemail message you then have to dialin to delete. I wrote about methods to set that particular conditional call forward to a dead-end.
I previously described some methods here: https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Using-Your-Service/Fun-with-Conditional-Call-forwardi...

I like the suggestion to completely avoid answering (or calling back) any number you see on your display that you do not recognize, or more generally, not already on your contact list.
It's my experience, that if you continually answer these spam callers, that your number get's noted as a successful contact, and you'll open your number up to being used by more and more spammers.
My motto is simple: if you're not on my contact list, I'm not gonna answer. If you don't leave me a message, I probably didn't need to hear from you in the first place. Who knows, I've probably lost out on tons of free money and prize giveaways - oh well.

Agree and that's what I generally do. I also must say that I don't get many calls generally as moved my communication to chatting apps. But I noticed that those spam 'calls' are usually starting like your phone number. Area code + first 3 digits and that makes it tempting to answer thinking it is a legit call. Also, it is not only on PM, it is similar thing for other providers.

Once the bad guys know your number is active...well...you know what happens.
@hairbag1 , haven't you ever 'played along' with one of these callers (that is, when it is not a recording)? Kinda of entertaining.
I'll try it.

Hey folks makkahn28 has been here for like ever. Not much he wouldn't know already. I think he's just commenting on a recent rash of calls.
For me, I answer anything that rings. I don't care. Could be anybody. It doesn't hurt. Then if it's junk then simply choose block for that number and forget about it. I get very few nowadays.

Spam calls these days seems to be unavoidable.
Yes, I do too, but mine usually with recording either I am in trouble with Revenue Canada or I won a million. But this is not related with PM I guess.
Is your number very new, like you just got from PM? If so, maybe it's a recycled number and the it was something from the previous owner, if so, maybe you can consider to get a new number

@makkahn28 - YES, very annoying. If you don't recognize the number ignore them or answer them and hang up on them, I really don't think it matters.
They should eventually fall away.
If this bothers you too much you can change your phone number every 30 days in your self serve at no charge. But these do happen to most people as some point. I believe they will eventually disappear (hopefully...).
