I have never had this type of  experience.
Perhaps the offer was due to using most or all your data allotment ?

Would be the ideal time for PM to suggest an upgrade?

What looks unusual, to me, is using the word “wallet” vs your “balance”.
I would have verified that with PM before I responded.

I agree - the wording of those texts, particularly the follow up text, leave ALOT to be desired @Nik1

Through all of this back and forth, had you gone into your credit card transactions or your public mobile account to VERIFY how much was actually billed and charged for the 1GB add-on data you purchased?

I highly doubt it was $40 for 1GB, however it's clear why you might have thought that.

Be sure to send that screenshot to the customer support agents as part of your communication with them.  They need to amend their SMS wording, big time.

Login to your account to see what it charged you. I'm sure it's only $15.

For those commenting on the special offer, it's not a plan change. It's just a data add-on offer because the OP used all the data available with their subscription.

This response popped up not even a few seconds after I posted - so I am guessing it isn't a person.

I was asked to hit YES1 for 1GB of data for 15.00$ and then hit yes, and got 1GB of data for 40.00$. Very sneakily, thats messed up

I picked YES1 for 1 GB for 15 data.... Then I got asked to confirm, while switching the price to 40. Dollars isn't even listed after the 40, maybe to make sure you say yes before you realize you just got scammed. Tf, $40.00 for 1GB of data... Are you serious

@Nik1  No worries this is legit offers . You just have to reply YES to except and it won’t effect your rewards either and plan will change in your renewal date
