If you have any chance at all of recovering your phone number you would have to enquire with the original provider ( or their subsidiaries) of that number. ie. Telus, Bell, Rogers et al.
Try calling it to see if its been reassigned as it only stays in the reassignment pool for 30 to 90 days depending on demand.
Contact the provider if its still available for assignment, make arrangements to activate a new account and retrieve the phone number and assign it to your account.
If you are very attached to the phone number then it might be worth the effort to try and recover it but it will take a lot of good luck.....wishing you the best on your endeavour.

@Bao22oaB , if an account goes into suspension for 90 days, the account is deactivated and you lose your phone number. The number has gone back into recycle pool for reassignment. It would pretty impossible to get it back.
