I can't send or receive pictures when texting.

Great Neighbour / Super Voisin

Hi, as of about 3 days ago I can no longer send or receive images when I text. Normal texting works fine.

First time ever having problems.

Phone is an older phone - Samsung Core SM-G386W

I have the $25 a month unlimited voice and international text plan.

My plan shows I have lots of data available (though I don't think that matters).

I have tried restarting the phone. Left it off overnight. No change.

Any thoughts on how I can get this working again?

Thanks in advance.

🙂

what phone do you have

try to delete, add new APN, SAVE , and reboot and test

 @Hammy2
Slide your finger down the display starting from the top edge of your phone. Press the settings icon.
Press More networks.
Press Mobile networks.
Press Access Point Names.

delete that current PM APN and add new

i have had no luck with these settings

@Hammy2   Under Mobile Networks look for Access Point Names.  That's the APN.

Thanks Phil_Adelphus, I had tried that. Searching APN returns "No Results Found".

@Hammy2  There is usually a search function in Settings. Just enter APN in the search box. If you're looking for reset settings then type in reset.  Whatever you do don't select factory reset or it will wipe the phone!

I can't seem to find where to reset this. Tried googling it but no luck. Any thoughts?

@Hammy2

The MMS issue is related to the PM announcement about MMS. The solutions are as per announcement:

@Hammy2

your phone was released on 2014 and very likely affected by this announcement:

https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Announcements/Picture-and-Group-Messaging-End-Date-Fe...

you can try this: click Reset All networks or Reset network settings to get the latest APN

Also, you can make a manual update, here are the old and new settings

Old settings:

APN: sp.mb.com
MMSC: http://aliasredirect.net/proxy/mb/mmsc
MMSC proxy: 74.49.0.18
MMS port: 80
MCC: 302
MNC: 220
APN Type: default,supl,mms
                             or        default,mms,agps,supl,fota,hipri

New Settings:

APN: sp.mb.com
MMSC: http://aliasredirect.net/proxy/mb/mmsc
MMSC proxy: mmscproxy.mobility.ca
MMS port: 8799
MCC: 302
MNC: 220
APN Type: default,supl,mms
                             or             default,mms,agps,supl,fota,hipri
