you are good. Because Google Message is a base app with the os, when you uninstall, it still have the old version, which is good
i think you can now reboot the phone and then Update the Google Message to the latest one. then try texting

Hope someone here can help me out, otherwise I don't know what else I can do.
This is frustrating, I just joined public mobile but not knowing there is no real person can talk to as customer services is online only.

hTideGnow,
It is still not working after followed your instructions which is uninstall Google Message then reboot phone, and reinstall Google Message from app store.
But there is a problem, once i uninstalled Google message, Google play shows the update icon at the uninstall area. I have attached 2 screenshots for you to have a better understanding.

hi @Meya8899
for Android , please uninstall Google Message if it is already installed
then reboot phone, and reinstall Google Message from app store and it would fix it the problem

hi @Meya8899
you need to tell us if you have iPhone or Android
if you have an iPhone, go to Settings, remove the phone number and disable iMessage and reboot phone after 5 mins. Then go back to the settings to re-add the phone number and re-enable iMessage
Or if you have an Android, then uninstall Google Message, reboot phone and reinstall Google Message from Play Store
