Hi there,
I recently switched to Public Mobile and am having trouble connecting to NordVPN while using data. I can connect to Nord via Wi-Fi without issue, and I can use cellular data without issue when Nord is not on. My goal is to use NordVPN and data simultaneously without issues. Before I switched to Public Mobile, I never had this inability to use Nord on cellular data. I am also not the most tech-savvy if I am honest, but I want a solution. Thanks for any help and for getting this headache resolved.

Try visiting https://test-ipv6.com/ on your device using data. If everything checks out, especially if you don't have issues contacting other sites, like Google, the problem most likely lies with NordVPN.

@NishNaabe this is not a PM issue, it is just NordVPN incorrectly hardcoded to IPv6. I am using ExpressVPN myself and is working great and stable
Also, you have to understand not all VPN services work perfectly with all carriers. Some have confirmed issue with Fido/Rogers
As a quick workaround, you can also try to change the Protocol to Wireguard or OpenVPN-TCP. It helps for those with issue in Fido

Hi there,
Thanks for responding, I guess my question is why is there this issue in the first place? Frankly I would not have switched to Public Mobile knowing this would be a technical and annoying barrier to seamless use. I am not overly techy and this seems like this fundamentally requires more work to find a semi work around, which I believe should not be something a paying person should require. It is frustrating.

There seams to be an issue with NordVPN as it is hardcoded to use with IPv6 which PM is not using. But thanks to Community member @victorzhao , there is a trick to force NordVPN to use IPv4 back
On PC, download iMazing Profile Editor from the Microsoft App Store and launch

A few other people have had similar issues lately. It may be the use of IPv6. Possibly either the network or Nord's servers don't work properly with IPv6.
