@Egg1 - are you sure you are out of your data ?
Call 611 from your device and check your data balance. This will include any plan or addon data you have remaining on your account.
If you received texts about using up data and it does not match up to what 611 is telling you or your refreshed My Account screen (as @hairbag1 is showing), then ignore the texts.

Would recommend that you Google "lower data usage" and use the many options it provides which are all settings on your device.

Charged? There's no charge for anything when you've used all your data.
Are you getting the text notifications from 611 about having used 75% or 95%?

Many ways for this to happen:
A new app updating in the background
Wifi drops off when streaming a video at home
Viewing an email with large attachments
etc.
Unless you are on the multi GB plans, the only effective way to prevent it is to disable data usage for most apps through your phone settings.
If you suspect this to be an error on PM’s part, you can always send a support ticket, but I wouldn’t keep my hopes up.

thiss could happen, maybe apps or OS update?
how much data you have per cycle?
are your using Android? check the Data usage page and it will give you hint how much data used and which app used the data

in settings, turn off data to any apps that you don't regularly use.
Log in on your laptop to see data availability...
