How long does it take for a plan upgrade to take effect?

I used up all my data, so I  just updated to the next plan but how long does it take for the upgrade to be processed?

I want to know if it will be in effect right away or if I have to wait a certain amount of time

That really should have happened immediately, but unfortunately, I've had a similar experience but when it comes to renewals. One time, I deliberately consumed all of my data on the last night of my plan billing cycle.  While the data counter did reset at midnight, it also took about 30 minutes before data started working for me again. I can only imagine that the delay in your data starting to work again after a plan change was a similar in nature.

You have two options:

- upgrade plan right away and that will become your new starting renewal date. New plan should start as soon as you change it.

- OR upgrade plan on next renewal. This is better option unless you are on last day of old plan so you do not pay more than you need to.
