How do I port my Telus number to Public Mobile (eSIM only) AFTER ACTIVATION?

I have a Telus account but activated a Public Mobile plan on the last day of the $34/50GB CANADA-US deal. I chose eSIM because there was no time to get a physical Public Mobile SIM.

1) During activation, it would not let me transfer my Telus phone number to PM - so I just activated it without the transfer.

2) Now I really need to transfer my Telus phone number to Public Mobile because I do not want to pay for 2 plans for myself, but all the instructions involve getting a physical PM SIM card.

3) My wife's cellphone plan is active in my Telus account, so I do not want that closed - I only want to port my Telus  number over.

I have gone back and forth with the chatbot trying to get this sorted, and it keeps saying the same thing. I need help ASAP.

doesn't matter the alternate phone number

After you submitted the request, Telus will send you a text and you need to reply YES

After you replied yes, wait an hour, and try to toggle off "Turn on this line" for the Telus esim, then set Public Mobile esim as Primary .  Reboot the phone and test incoming, see if it comes to your PM esim

PS. Yes, I tested and the PM eSIM in my phone is working. It is set as a 'Business' (secondary) line, and my Telus is set as my 'Primary' line.

I am following the normal flow to transfer my Telus number via the self-service account. I entered my Telus phone number, and it asks for my Telus account number AND an alternate contact phone number. Do I put my Public Mobile number as the alternate? I do not have any other alternate contact phone number.

Is the PM eSIM working in your phone right now?

If it is working properly with the temporary number, you should be able to transfer your Telus phone number via your self service account.  Use your Telus account number, mobile number and account holder name when you port over.  Keep your Telus SIM card in your phone to respond yes to telus port request text.  Porting should be done within 1-2 hours maxiumum.

Hi @MarjorieG, I'll send you a number to contact for porting. Keep an eye on your inbox (top right corner should show an envelop icon)
