First thing - suspend your PM account, remove autopay and credit card so whoever finds it cannot abuse your number.
PM does not provide service to report lost/stolen phones to national database.
How can google/samsung tracking help finding a phone if whoever finds it does factory reset and wipes out everything from the phone?

What make and model is your lost phone?

For tracking the lost phone, did you registered the phone with Google/Samsung/Apple?
if so, you can try to track it, find the last known location. If you are lucky, you can even remotely wipe the phone or lock it
Apple: https://www.icloud.com/find
Samsung: https://findmymobile.samsung.com/
Google: https://myaccount.google.com/find-your-phone

@szi sorry to hear this.
Do you have a google account attached to it to use the Find My Phone feature?
Or, Samsung also has a similar feature.
iphones as well.
You can also use the above services to lock it or add a message to the screen lock.
Sorry, but Public Mobile cannot help you find it...if that is what you were also asking.
Have you tried calling it? Any luck?
You can list your phone lost/stolen on your self serve account, see here: https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/bc/get-help/articles/lost-or-stolen-phone
This way you will not be charged for further renewals and no one has the ability to use the services on it.
Then obtain a new SIM card (and phone) and you can swap the SIM card to your account so you have the same phone number. Then you can reactivate the plan out of lost/stolen mode.
