Friend porting from freedom to public.

I have a RaF porting from freedom to PM.

The activation appeared to work using phone number as account number for the porting process. She can call outbound, but whenever we try to call inbound, it appears that freedom mobile picks up demanding a payment to restore service. How do we force freedom to cough up the phone number?

Moderator was able to fix it. There was no need to pay anything additional to Freedom mobile. FWIW, the service would still have been active on March 3rd, the same day that the port was requested. No reasonable grounds from freedom to be stingy with the auth request.

Public Mobile can't assist you unttil your restore the suspended Freedom Mobile service. You'll need to discuss that part with Freedom.

You mentioned top ups so by that, I know that you're on a Freedom Pay Your Way or Pay Before plan. You cannot port a number that isn't active. Those are the porting rules, and that's the same across all carriers (with a few rare excepptions). Fredom Mobile Pay Before phone numbers can still be ported up until 10 days after the payment due date, but not after that.  This is becasue Freedom offers Pay Before customers a 10 day grace period when incoming calls still work. Freedom also considers these phones numbers to still be acttive during those 10 days.

Port was done yesterday, or so we thought.

The freedom account payment to renew was due yesterday too (the 3rd), so it "should" have still been active. It doesn't make sense that they can force you to pay them another topup in order to release the number.

@JohnSmith1

Then you may need to contact moderator to help complete the port.

I think that your friend might need to activate the Freedom  mobile account to have port completed though....

How long did your friend start the porting process?  It sometimes takes a few hours for the port to be completed.  When the port is still in process, you can dial out or text out, but unable to receive calls or text until port is completed.

Was the Freedom mobile account active when the port was started? It needs to be active for port to be successful.
