In all honesty, @Victoria79 , I'd recommend purchasing a physical SIM card, as opposed to e-SIM.
With a physical SIM card, you need not worry about erasing it plus when moving devices, you simply take it out and put in the new device.
With e-SIM, in each of those situations you would need to re-purchase a new e-SIM.
The choice is ultimately yours, of course.
If you want to purchase a physical card, you can get one a corporate TELUS or Koodo location. Perhaps call ahead to find out if they have any in-stock before going. After acquiring one, go to your Profile tab in self-serve, and enter the new SIM card particulars there.
