My son put in the wrong phone number when trying to set up his account. He now can't access his account because Eversafe sends the sms to the wrong number. I am going round in circles trying to get an answer.

So, you son put in the wrong phone number for porting? PM CS agent can help to change back to the correct one. You just need to engage them by direct message. Private message CS Agent at:

Unfortunately, that option doesn't come up. He just gets a screen offering text or voice message, but it is now going to a different number we don't recognize. Thank you for trying.

You sometimes can get 2FA email instead of text. Does he see "didn't receive code" link? Click on that link and it should offer email 2FA instead.
