Emergency shelters and job finding places. I recently gave my box of old working/refurb smartphones to someone who donates/volunteers at local Salvation Army church, thrift, and homeless shelter.

@JoyLuck Just a heads up: CNIB link suggests smartphones, not flip phones. Guess they have some specific apps to suggest.

If they're old CDMA phones then there's no point. Just electronics recycle. Be sure to clear them of any identifiable information.

Check with your local women's shelter. They can use them to call 911 without having a sim.
