Does PM have a concept of temporarily suspending accounts when travelling for long periods?

Other carriers which offer monthly plans (not prepaid) usually allow you to suspend your account for one or more months in the event you are travelling outside the country and will not use your service for that time.  They also reduce the chrages to a minimum price during this time, so you dont pay much for something you aren't using.

What happens in this case at Public Mobile?  Say you sign up with the great promo plan that's on right now and are paying in blocks of 3 months at a time.  But then one day you decide to take a 2 month vacation or longer to some foreign country where you can't use your service.

How do you deal with situation like this?

Thanks, that's great to know. Sorry, I'm still new here and the page isn't too specific.

@FFLSuspending service does not mean pausing your plan.

It simply means the SIM is disabled from being used until you enable it.

What it says from the lost/stolen phone page:
"If your phone is lost or stolen, you can suspend your service until you find your phone. Once it's found, return to this page to resume your service.

If your account is suspended for more than 90 days, your account will be deactivated and you'll lose your phone number."

Pretty sure it stops the service

@Gee I do not think suspending your account via that method will pause the plan. The days will continue to count down during the period you suspend your account.

Could you suspend your phone, reactivate, then suspend again?

You can suspend your account if you go to Plan And Add Ons, then click the tab Lost/Stolen Phone

There you can suspend your account for up to 90 days.  After 90 days, you will lose your number.

I agree with @bbdata

You have 90 days after your plan expire to renew it otherwise you will lose your number.

so if you plan on travelling for a month, you can just stop renewing your plan and when you come back, reactivate it again while you are still within the 90 days after the last expiry date.

@erotavlas Since Public Mobile is a prepaid service. There is no acount holding service like many post paid providers offer.

From my understanding, one way to approach being away from the country is to not pay after your plan has expired. You will have 90 days from that point to make a payment to renew your plan and continue service.

Someone else will probably have a more informed answer but I would think that shutting down your plan...even for a short time, might mean not getting that plan back again.  You might just have to sign up with what is currently available.  So in other words, once you step away from your Fall promotion plan, you probably can't get it back.  So you have to ask yourself if the money you save for the month or 2 would be worth the loss of this great plan.  Also consider using a US roaming package when going to the US.
