Data usage report is incorrect

Hello,

My data renewed today, Oct. 16, 2024.  My plan includes 250MB of data.  This easily lasts me all month.  My report today says I have used 100.68 MB already in less than 24 hours.  How so?  I have turned off my data and stopped as many apps from using background data.  Any advice will be extremely helpful.

Yes, the data usage overview is wrong these days. It's always 100MB higher than reality whenever your phone is online.

the data counter used to reset at 5Mb as "buffer" data, but seems like the buffer is now increased to 100Mb

An old trick here to confirm it is just a "buffer" is to power off the phone (don't turn it on yet) and the counter would start at 0 without the "buffer". Try and see .  But the buffer data could reappear after your phone is on

Understand you only have 250Mb monthly and 100Mb buffer is big, but this buffer amount should be back when you get close to your limit.
