Hi Guys
I made a post last week about data not working on my iphone 4. My husband also has data that does not work on his Acer Liquid Zest. We re followed the APN instructions. Still not working. Does someone know what could be wrong? Thanks

During the factory reset you probably updated to the latest software. I’m glad you got it working.

Any updates here?

If so, you need to delete the profile. Go to Settings-General Scroll down to profiles, if you don’t see that option than we have a different issue. If you do have profiles go into it and delete them.

Is this phone from freedom mobile?

The thing is that the setting for APN that has posted on web site does not exist on iphone
there is only APN name and user name and password
nothing for all other parameters like MMSC and .....
So whats the correct setting ? and how come it only happens for some iphones ?

no need, the oracle helped me and i learned this: "Connect your phone to wifi then using Safari visit (the link is in the other thread) and follow the instructions on the screen. You should see this picture. Click "Create APN" and install it."

What happens if you swap SIMs with your husband?

Still can't get it working on the iphone 4, even with the itunes downloads of the configurator 2 (when i tried to download that, itunes said "you need to download itunes U" and when I went there, it said i needed another app and so on".
still failed at getting this thing to work on my iphone 4.... but the acer was a success....

No it did work, ever though it had no LTE. It has a 3G setting, and that worked just fine.

Ah, ok.
Took a look and there's apparently a couple variants of this device (Acer Liquid Zest) and it appears you have one that doesn't support LTE.
My guess is you have this one:
This phone will NOT work for data with Public Mobile, unfortunately. 😞
EDIT: I see your latest message - so data IS working now? I am confused! 🙂 But if it works it works!

This all worked for our ACER liquid zest. But I still cannot get data on the iphone 4. I followed all of these instructions. Can you explain clearly these links for getting data to work on iphone 4?
Thanks!

Hi! Thanks for this info. The data is of course turned on, even roaming is turned on...
So I went into the "preferred network type" and there is no "LTE" listed on the Acer Liquid Zest. There are only: "2G/3G", "3Gonly" "2Gonly". So I flipped it to 3G. I do not see an LTE option in the network type on the Acer, which is a brand new 2017 phone....

@Ferlea Just is case the Android phone is still working except for data I am posting my long checklist for his consideration. On the iPhone question look at my response to your other thread. Also, if you can receive phone calls data should function (except old Blackberrys), at least on 3G.
DATA NOT WORKING CHECKLIST
- connects with wifi?
- cellular data turned on?
- confirm data is included in your plan and not used up
- if dual sim use LTE/3G slot
- is it all apps that use data or just the browser not connecting?
- toggle airplane mode off/on
- remove sim for 5 minutes, then install and reboot
- go to settings, then general-profile and delete any profiles
- check network is not set to 2G; use auto, 3G, or LTE
- check for operating system updates
- APN settings correct Public Mobile
- delete current APN, and re-enter settings
- remove any VPNs
- reset all network settings; you will need to add back wifi passwords after that.
- try sim in another phone and a good sim in your phone
- LAST desperate measure when all else fails; erase all data and restore phone to factory settings

@Ferlea - @koimr1 suggested some good possible causes.
Have you tried sending a message to the Moderators to look into this issue, since last time you made the post in the community? Assuming you went through all the suggestions from the other thread, it might be possible that there is something wrong behind the scene that the Moderator team may be able to help with.
To send them a message, follow the below link and be sure to include your account details and problem:

Hi @Ferlea!
Dumb question - is mobile data actually enabled for your phones? I would think that you'd see if it was/wasn't if you were able to get to the APN stuff but sometimes it's easy to overlook.
If that's all good, what is your network type set to? Look for a setting that might be worded similar to "Preferred Network Type". You want this to at least specify "LTE" or have "LTE" as part of it. Examples:
"2G/3G" - NO, this won't work!
"2G/3G/LTE" or perhaps "3G/LTE" - Yes! This should work!
That's probably more for your husband's Android but I presume iPhones have something similar.
The reason is that PM only uses LTE for data - even if you have one of their "3G" plans it's actually LTE that's been throttled.
If all that still passes the test then you'll need to contact a moderater via private message by clicking here and providing your email address, phone number and a brief description of the problem.
Good luck! 🙂
