Hello @Donababe
Before anything, please make sure you do your due diligence and research on Public Mobile. Make sure you know everything you can so you can make an informed choice.
If you wish to port your number from another service provider, I highly recommend starting your Public Mobile account by downloading the app, following the instructions carefully and get a temporary number to start. Once the account is set, test everything. Make and take calls. Send and receive text messages/iMessages. And finally, make sure data works. If everything works, please use this link to port over the number you wish to.

Note: Before this request is made, please place your previous carrier's SIM card back in the phone to accept a porting request by text. If you’re using an eSIM with your previous carrier, do not delete it until your number is properly ported. Your other carriers account must be active still to properly port over to Public Mobile.

when you activate your new Public Mobile account, you're given opportunity to transfer your Rogers number to Public Mobile. When transferred successfully, your Rogers account is automatically deactivated. You can also call Rogers if you like...just to make sure your payment card is scrubbed from their files.

hi @Donababe if you are porting your number into Public Mobile, do not cancel your Rogers account. Account has to be active for the number to 0ort away from it. Once the number is ported , the Rogers account will be closed
if you want to port your number into PM, subscribe using PM ap. Ask for transferring your number after payment step. Rogers wull send your text to your Rogers sim to confirm if you are putting out , and you just need to reply yes within 90 mins
