Considering downgrading, thoughts and advice please...

So I'm currently on the $25 1GB plan with around 8GB in Christmas gifts and 1900 Intl minutes Christmas gift over the years I've never really used.

I NEVER really use the 1GB data that comes with the account as I have WiFi everywhere I go plus my other line has unlimited data (Telus). I want to keep this line as I use it for making calls while working remote. I use under 100 minutes a month considering I have unlimited. With that being said, maybe downgrading to the $15 100 minutes a month account may be better suited for my needs. The only concerns I have is will I lose all the Christmas gifts data/Intl minutes? What about my 3 years loyalty credit? And finally my one and only $1 refer a friend?

One more question if I may ask. I've searched and maybe I've missed it but, where can I download my monthly invoices for the year so I can claim it on my income tax this year?

Thank you all in advance and look forward to your thoughts and advice as always.

Go and downgrade to $15 plan.

ALL your rewards, add-on, loyalty, etc. are tied up with your Account, not plan so you can downgrade/upgrade at will.

Go down to $15 plan.

Buy some ahead of time and after when needed, $5 500 minute Canada Wide Calling. They don't expire till used up.

Turn data off all the time and only turn on when needed. Cuz you will only have 250 mb.

Then I hope you have some freebie accrued data to handle.

NO loss of freebies or loyalty or referrals. Those are account based.

@darlicious  Well that is a new addition I did not know about. Getting invoices by topping up account before renewal. Are there other tips and tricks I should know about?

@KenAdams

As mentioned your rewards and add ons are unaffected by a change of plan....choose to schedule your plan change on next renewal. You can download your payment history for the past 12 months in your self serve account just use the filter to choose the time range. If you paid via autopay then the downloaded invoice coupled with your credit card statement that will show the tax paid on your autopayments should suffice for tax purposes. Beyond that date range requires contacting customer support. Going forward if you choose to manually top up your account just before renewal you will be given the option to download your invoice (this is the only time you get this option) and it includes all of the required info needed for an income tax claim.

It will include your name, address, phone number and account #.It will include your name, address, phone number and account #.

@KenAdams    You can actually just login to self serve and schedule a plan change at next renewal which is the recommended option as PM doesn't prorate for unused days left in current cycle for immediate plan changes and your rewards like autopay, loyalty etc., are also not applied for immediate plan changes.

Thank you all for your quick replies. You've all been awesome with the advice. My billing date ends on the 26th so I will do it a few days before that to make sure I make the cut off date.

Thank you again everyone. Bravos all around!!!

@KenAdams  Sounds like the $15 plan is better for you then. If you downgrade your plan you will keep all the current rewards you have, DO NOT SWITCH TO PUBLIC POINTS THOUGH. And the only way that can happen is if you opt in in the rewards page and not my account page. But as long as you stay within my account, you will keep the old rewards system and all of that stuff you currently have. Also you can view your past payments in my account but I am not sure if you can download invoices.

To get a receipt, you will need to contact customer support agents by opening a ticket in the chatbot.  https://widget.telus.tiia.ai/publicmobile/publicmobile.html

Changing plans doesn't affect loyalty, refer-a-friend, and any pre-authorized payment rewards that you might have.

@KenAdams

If you down grade your plan, you won't lose any rewards because they stay with the account not the plan.

You'll have to ask a CSA for all your receipts.

Yes, you should get the $15 and save a few bucks.  Why not?

@KenAdams yes, you can downgrade and it won't affect your holiday bonus, they are there for you to keep until all used.  You can change to $15 first, and change it back to $25  when you are out of freebie data and mins

for official invoices, you have to open ticket with PM support and ask them to prepare for you.  Expect 2 or 3 weeks tuenaround

@KenAdams   No all add-ons gifted or bought plus rewards like autopay, RAF and loyalty are attached to the account and will not be affected by any plan change.
