Confused about who i am talking to on the community- private or not?

I am new. I have  problems receiving mms messages ( Not the topic for this question). I posted a question on the community forum and i think i sent a ticket.

I received answers on the community forum. None of them work. I do appreciate people trying. My understanding is i don't give a thumbs up if the suggestion does not work.

I received a response from someone asking for my credit card info for verification. Then another asking for my password. Who are these people? There is no way i am going to give my account info on a community forum. Can i not just log into my PM account and then ask a question to a PM employee within that login? Thankyou

  1. Thankyou to all. Everyone of you gave me clear things to check for to make sure it is a private message. You also explained the difference between private message and this forum. Helpful.

@cell44

Great that you are very cautious. Since this is a public community forum. There are members trying to take advantage for SIM swapping.

I would report them to the CS_Agent for phishing and spamming by opening the private message and click on the gear icon and Report as Inappropriate. PM staff will take appropriate actions.

PM staff will only reply back to you in private messaging with the Author PM CS_Agent.

@cell44  - Good on you for being cautious and asking these questions!

I often wished Public Mobile would state whether posts we were all making were going to be PUBLIC on this forum or Private to particular members and / or Public Mobile Representatives.

Public Mobile Representatives are called Customer Support Agents (CSA for short).

@Anonymous  identified who you are okay with giving personal info. to the CS_Agents or PM staff.

If you are navigating under the Envelope where your Inbox is for Sent and Received messages, than those are private (not on the public forum), but be sure to only give your personal info. still to only CS_Agents or PM.

Any time you post a question in the Community it is PUBLIC. You must go to the Envelope for private messaging.

Methods for CSA tickets here (which are private and to Public Mobile representatives): https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/ns/get-help/articles/contact-an-agent

Sorry...hope I didn't confuse you more...

HI @cell44

There should be a ticket number in the subject line

If you are still worry, then copy the ticket number from the subject line and send a new ticket to the CS_agent team using the line below with that subject line (it is important as that subject line contains the ticket number)

The only people you should be giving private personal confidential ACCOUNT information to are the username CS_Agent and further identified with Customer Support Agent. Only they have the further description. Do not reply to other private messages asking for those kinds of information.

Edit: Or if you see the little PM indicator.
