Hello,
Since PM doesn't sell phones directly, I'd expect PM to have Volte support on all phones sold under Telus/Koodo network.
I have an iphone 7 which support Volte on Koodo network but not in case with PM.
All new phones sold by Koodo/TELUS in 2018 or later and most sold in Canada will work on the TELUS VoLTE network.

The iPhone 7 is considered as an old phone with no more software iOS updates.
Both the phone's software and carrier have to allow the VoLTE connections. In the past, some devices that have previously worked on Public Mobile's implemenation of VoLTE have had the VoLTE disabled while using Public Mobile. Such devices are clearly VoLTE capable.

I have a friend with an iPhone XR that was sourced from a competing brand that does not get VoLTE. The VoLTE and 5G whitelist is one of the negatives with this service.

HI @inonosa
from what we see, PM just add newer phone onto the VoLTE whitelist but not older phone. I don't think PM will add iPhone 7 on unless they start allowing ALL VoLTE phones here. But you can check with support agent instead

test things out yourself...turn off wifi and dial a local number. Does your cellphone drop to 3g or does it stay on LTE ? If it stays on LTE, you're good to go.

the phone will still work on PM but will be using 3G for voice. With PM, you need to have an iPhone 8 and above to use VoLTE
