Why can I not talk to a real person anymore for any phone carrier or internet provider. The ai only works for people that don’t even know how to use a computer. I have an issue the ai can’t solve yet can’t get ahold of a real person

Well, if your number started with Koodo, it should be back at Koodo now.
What are the first six digits including area code of your original number? Sometimes we can check which company it came from.

Since it has been more than one year, your PM account is permanently closed and your mobile number was sent back to your original mobile company that you activated with.
What happens when you try to call your old number? Is the number still out of service? Or is the number assigned to another customer?
If the number is out of service, then you may be able to get that number back. However, you will need to contact the original mobile company that you activated that number with. Public mobile does not have that number.

I did call the number it didn’t ring and immediately said this number is not in service

A year, huh...it's gone then. You should try dialing that number...it may have been re-assigned by now. As a last bit of suggestion...call Telus Customer Support as they are parents of Koddo and Public Mobile. See if they can do anything to help get it back. Public Mobile has no traditional Call Center type of support any longer...just the stupid catbot and us. 🤓 (who's the stupid one now, eh Dunkman) 😇
added...please ignore and forgive my reference to Freedum. I was just talking to another person about freedum and musta stuck in my brain. Again...my apologies for confusing the issue.

Not sure why some members are mentioning about Freedom mobile. You are moving to Koodo. With porting to other Telus companies, your PM account does not need to be active.
The key question is how long was your Public mobile account suspended for? If your PM account was suspended more than 90 days, then your PM account is permanently closed and your phone number is send back to the mobile company that you originally activated with. You will need to contact that mobile company to try to get your original number back. PM will not have that number.

our friend @slusagm has a good idea...if your PM account has only recently been Suspended due to non pay...you can add $$ to your account to reactivate the account. Then, if you still wanna transfer to Freedom..use your PM service for 25 days, then initiate port to Freedum.

The number is no longer active with any phone plan

That isn’t true if I can literally just talk to someone who works at public mobile I’ll be able to get it back but since all the stupid ai stuff I can’t talk to anyone real

It was either created with Telus or public mobile. Koodo can change my number but it needs to be in their system they said. Even though public mobile is with Telus all the Koodo support could see is that the number wasn’t with Telus or Koodo anymore. That means it is with public and they should be able to give my number back. Koodo can change their number to picked out numbers if they have the number in their system

If your old Public Mobile account is deactivated, your number is gone. You were supposed to transfer to Freedum just before you were done with PM. Now your old number has gone back to whomever created it. When you started your old PM account, did you bring over your number from an old provider ?

how long you gave up the service with PM, if within 90 days, reactivate the service with PM. But if longer than 90 days suspension, then you won't get the number back

If you are porting out of PM. Koodo is to contact PM to confirm you are porting over. Your PM account must be active and keep your PM SIM in your phone to reply with YES confirming you are porting over to Koodo.
