Hello,
I had just switched to PM from Fido today and I cannot receive or send any texts from my ported phone number. This is extremely infuriating as I need to receive 2FA texts for work. How can I resolve this?

The previous eSIM must be removed or disabled in order to for the new one to work successfully.
Did you reply to the text from Fido confirming the port? Once you've done that, within a few minutes to hours the service on Fido should no longer work and your PM eSIM should kick in.
You can temporarily disable to test and add back later if it still doesn't work. Are calls working? Data?
If nothing works, use the chatbot to create a ticket and get help from CS agents.

you need to disable Fido sim (you can reenable later if you need to) to confirm if the port is done
disable Fido sim, reboot phone. Test if you can receive incoming calls and text. If you cannot receive both calls and text on PM sim card, the port is not completed. You can reenable Fido sim back and if calls and text come to fido sim, that also confirm the port is not done

Have you removed or disabled the Fido SIM? from the phone? Are you using eSIM? Make sure it's showing as primary or turn on this line in your phone settings.

again, if just 2FA, it takes 3 to 7 days for all 2FA to come. This is normal with porting with any provider
if you cannot even receive regular SMS from friends, uninstall Google Message, reinstall and it will resolve that

I was trying these last two hours to get RCS working. Did everything possible like verifying Google, clearing cache, rebooting. For some reason it continues to be stuck on verifying

First, do you receive any incoming calls and regular SMS (P2P) from friends? If so, it is good, at least the porting was completed successfully
For 2FA text or other system generated text (A2P), it is normal for them to start coming later. Systems take longer to find out you changed provider and to route the text correctly to the new provider (Public Mobile). Also, financial institutions (banks) or government agencies (e.g, CRA) put this delay on purpose too to avoid SIM Fraud
Usually they will start coming around the 3rd day after porting but it could take as many as 7 days for all the 2FA/A2P text to come.

Data and calls work, just not text? Hopefully just a delay in full transition. It may just resolve on its own.
Did you enable RCS in you messaging?
Try resetting your network connections and rebooting your phone.
If that doesn't work, you need to contact a customer agent:

And check messages.
