I subscribed to the new Canada/US plan which includes US roaming. When I crossed the border I turned on roaming and selected AT&T. 5 minutes later I got a text from PM telling me to uproar roaming plan. Obviously I didn’t do it. What am I doing wrong?

New to this Public Mobile thing. Got a SIM Card today.. about to make the switch.
Just want to double check that folks here can confirm the $34/month Canada-US plan actually includes calls and data when I'm in the US?
PM is a little bit vague in their descriptors of the plan, and I've heard various versions of this.
Flying into the Twin Cities in a few weeks and then driving to Chicago. Gonna seriously need my phone's GPS when I get down there.. just wanna make sure this is gonna work. (If not, I'll have to bring my old suction cup TomTom to stick to the windshield of the rental care.)

For me AT&T sucks and is unreliable... Couldn't care less about that but my phone is set to automatic and always picking up T-Mobile because it's stronger.

@Bastian_Vaughan Yeah T-Mobile 5G and 4G works great. On AT&T only 4G works.
So it's best to either set your phone to automatic and 4G preferred, or manually connect to T-Mobile and leave it on 5G preferred. There are pros and cons to both ways.

I never had problems with 5G with T-Mobile (my favorite choice when I am in the US).

Ignore that text, it goes to everyone regardless of plan. If service works, you're good. Make sure to also set your preferred network to 4G/LTE because AT&T 5G won't work.

HI @Gordon5
remember to turn on Mobile Roaming data
also turn off 5G, use only 4G or LTE
and if that does not work, try T-Mobile. Connect it manually
